Mentoring Times: Most mentoring takes place at lunch or in the afternoons. The Girls Inc. program meets from 3:30-6:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Where to Park: Parking is limited at Brown Academy. You may park on 8th Street in front of the school (except at posted times for bus pick-up) or in the teachers' lot just past the school on 8th Street. To park in either place, you will need a Parking Permit from the School Secretary.
How to Sign In: The Office is the first room on the right as you enter the building from the main entrance on 8th Street. There you will sign the Visitor's Log and make a Nametag for yourself. Then you can proceed to the classroom or cafeteria to pick up your Little.
Where does Mentoring Take Place? Many Bigs meet their Littles at lunch time, and pick their Little up from the Cafeteria. Bigs may take their Little's lunch tray upstairs to Teacher Workroom 214, which is where the Activity Box is located. From there, many Bigs take their Littles to the Multi-Purpose Room (Gym) if it is not in use, or to the Playground.
How to Sign Out: Write your activities in the Logbook located in Teacher Workroom 214, then sign out of the Visitor's Log in the Office.
Emergency Contact If you must break your meeting with your Little, please call the school's number above and have Mrs. Donna Sutton or Mrs. Vickie Taylor send a note to your Little's teacher.
If your Little attends Girls Inc., there is no way to reach Littles after hours. Please contact the School or Girls Inc at (423) 624-4757 before the end of the school day.
